Bistro St Jacques in the heart of Redfern is a 10 minute walk from the Grand Electric.

Set in a 1950s Sydney terrace style shop, the restaurant walls are decorated with racks of wine and vintage European lithographs and photographs. It has a cosy, inviting local neighbourhood feel.
St Jacques is owner Nick Stone’s third restaurant venture, having previously run Bar Sopra and Cafe La Boma in Potts Point. A self-described foodie, Nick’s fondness for French cuisine comes from his visit to Paris experiencing a traditional French bistro.
From steak tartare to duck a l’orange, the menu has an extensive list of authentic French dishes to choose from. The classic French bistro has both pre and post theatre dining and even offers two courses (entree and main) for $65 to those who show their Titanique ticket.

The lengthy wine list features a curated selection of French and international wines. To
Served by the glass, the 2021 Willm Reserve Pinot Blanc from Alsace, France. The crisp dry white wine has a lovely floral aromatic notes. Alsace wines generally include high quality dry, mineral-driven Pinot Blanc’s and this one did not disappoint. The fresh acidity and minerality, paired perfectly with the clams.
I’ll definitely be returning to this charming restaurant.
